Abstract
This research was aimed to discover a significant difference by comparing samples who got a treatment by using TikTok as a learning platform and those who were not in the eighth grade of SMP N 1 Puding Besar. It also wanted to discover. TikTok’s effect as a learning platform on samples' English Speaking skills. This study adopt a quasi-experimental design and also an experimental. 48 pupils were included in the sample from two classes, with 24 placed as experimental group and 24 as control group. Three areas of this study's scope were restricted: vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Pre-test and post-test procedures were used by researcher to assess pupils' speaking skills. The test was analyzed by SPSS 21. The observation’s outcome revealed, TikTok as a learning platform gained the pupils’ enthusiast, motivated, and pupils gained confident in their oral skills. The research found that the mean in experimental class (Mean= 60.2083) was higher compared to control class (Mean=53.2500). In conclusion a significant effect on pupils’ speaking skills by using TikTok as a Learning Platform was discovered.
