Abstract

ENGLISH
This research was aimed to discovered a significant difference by comparing
samples who received a treatment by using Educandy application as a learning media and those who were not in the eighth grade of SMPN 1 Sungaiselan This study used a quasi-experimental design. 60 students were included in the sample from two classes, divided into 30 students as the experimental group and 30 as the control group. Pre-test and post-test procedures were used by the researcher to assess students' vocabulary mastery. The data was analyzed by t-test SPSS 25. The observation results with indicators concept, cooperation, and participation showed
that educandy application as a learning media made the students more enthusiast, such as happy to participate, and showing a positive attitude towards the learning activity. The use of educandy made students motivated in improving their vocabulary. This study found that differences of students’ post-test between experimental and control group was 2.134, the standard error differences was 2.79379. Then, the significant (2-tailed) was 0,037, t-obtained 2.134, critical value of t-table was 2.045 and degree of freedom was 58. Since the p-output or significant (2-tailed) was 0.037, upper than computation with level significant 0,037, and t- obtain 2.134 was higher than critical value of t-table 2.045, it could be confirmed that there was a significant difference in students’ post-test between experimental
and control group In conclusion, educandy app significantly improved the
vocabulary mastery of 8 grade students at SMPN 1 Sungaiselan
