Abstract
ENGLISH:
This study analyzes the classroom interaction between English teacher and students at SMA N 2 Mendo Barat, with a particular focus on the types and patterns of talk used during teaching and learning activities. Using qualitative descriptive method, the reasearh investigates how teacher talk and students talk contribute to the learning environment, including how they affect students engagement, undxerstanding, and participation. The data were collected through classroom observation, interviews, and video recordings, then analyze using checklist code. The findings reveals teachers talk lecturing, speacially give fact or opinion about the content procedures. However, students talk increased students talk initiation, expressiong their own ideas. And also explain about some factors that influencing teacher and students interactions in the classroom. the study highlights the importance of creating a classroom environment conductive to positive and meaningful interaction.
