Abstract
ENGLISH :
Speaking is one of the skills that have to be mastered by students in learning English. It is an essential tool for communicating in order for them to express their ideas. Speaking is important for language learners. Besides the role it plays in communication, speaking can also facilitate language acquisition and development. This research was aimed to discover a significant difference by comparing samples who got a treatment by using spinning wheel game and those who were not in the eighth grade of SMP N 1 Mendo Barat. It also wanted to discover Spinning Wheel Game effect on samples English Speaking skills. This study adopts a Quasi-Experimental design and also an experimental. 56 students were included in the sample from two classes, with 28 placed as experimental group and 28 as control group.
Three areas of this study's scope were restricted: vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Pre-test and post-test procedures were used by researcher to assess students' speaking skills. The test was analyzed by SPSS 25. The observation’s outcome revealed, Spinning Wheel Game gained the students’ enthusiast, motivated, and students gained confident in their oral skills. The research found that the p-output or significant t-tailed was 0.001 and t-obtain (t) was 3.435 higher than critical value of t-table 2000, in conclusion, there was significant difference in students’ pre-test between experimental and control group
