Abstract
ENGLISH:
The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a significant difference in vocabulary mastery between eighth-grade students at SMP N 1 Simpang Rimba who were taught using the Frayer Model strategy and those who were not, as well as to explain how the strategy was implemented in the experimental class. This research utilized a quasi-experimental design within a quantitative research framework. The study was conducted at SMP N 1 Simpang Rimba, involving two eighth-grade classes, VIII A and VIII B. A total of 58 students participated, with 32 students in the experimental group and 26 students in the control group. Purposive sampling was applied, based on the results of a preliminary test. Analysis of the experimental group’s pre-test and post-test results revealed a mean difference of - 23.750, a standard deviation of 7.071, a standard error of 1.250, a t-value of -26.299, with 31 degrees of freedom, and a significance value (2-tailed) of .000. Because the significance value was below the 0.05 threshold, it was concluded that the use of the Frayer Model strategy led to a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery in the experimental class.
