Abstract

INDONESIA:
Penggunaan abusive language atau bahasa kasar di kalangan remaja, khususnya siswa sekolah menengah pertama, menjadi fenomena yang mengkhawatirkan karena dapat memengaruhi perkembangan perilaku mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak abusive language terhadap perkembangan perilaku siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Mentok. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional.

Sampel penelitian berjumlah 74 siswa yang diambil menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling.Instrumen penelitian berupa skala abusive language yang mencakup aspek frekuensi penggunaan, jenis bahasa kasar, dampak emosional, dan motivasi penggunaan,dengan nilai reliabilitas Cronbach alpha sebesar 0,732, serta skala perkembangan perilaku yang meliputi aspek kognitif, emosional, sosial, moral, dan bahasadengan nilai Cronbach alpha sebesar 0,714. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwanilai korelasi sebesar r = -0,410 dan nilai sig. (2-tailed) 0,000 P< 0,05. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara Abusive languagememiliki dampak negatif terhadap perkembangan perilaku siswa, yang apabila tidak dikendalikan dapat memengaruhi proses penyesuaian diri siswa di lingkungan sekolah maupun sosial.

ENGLISH
The use of abusive language among adolescents, particularly junior high school students, is a worrying phenomenon because it can affect their behavioral development. This study aims to determine the impact of abusive language on the behavioral development of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Mentok. The approach used was quantitative with a correlational method.
The study sample consisted of 74 students selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of an abusive language scale covering the frequency of use, type of abusive language, emotional impact, and motivation for use, with a Cronbach's alpha reliability of 0.732, and a behavioral development scale covering cognitive, emotional, social, moral, and language aspects with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.714. Data were analyzed using a correlation test.
The results showed a correlation value of r = -0.410 and a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000, P < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between abusive language and its negative impact on students' behavioral development, which, if uncontrolled, can affect students' adjustment to school and social environments.
