Abstract

ENGLISH:

The objective of this research is to find out the students’ Language Learning Strategies. Students’ English Achievement in reading skill. And whether or not the significant Correlation between Students’ Language Learning Strategies and Their English Achievement in Reading skill at eleventh grade SMKN 1 SIMPANG KATIS. The subject of this study were the students of eleven grade students of SMKN 1 Simpang Katis in academic year 2023/2024 that consisted of 30 students. In this research, the researcher used quantitative research, to got the data of the study, the writer used questionnaire and test. The researcher used inferential statistics, calculating coefficient correlation by using product moment formula (rxy), computing the students’ language learning strategies and their English achievement in reading skill test scores. The percentage of students’ language learning strategies was 45.8 %. It means that the students used these learning strategies in low frequency because 45.8 % was regarded as low. The average of the students’ English achievement in reading skill test scores was 68.9. It was fair. It means that students got fair scores.. Using product moment formula (rxy), the computation shows that the correlation coefficient was 0.062. It means that the coefficient correlation was lower than the critical value ’r’ because ’r’ with 5 % significance level and the subject number was 30 was 0.361. The critical value was higher than the correlation coefficient. It means that the null hypothesis was accepted there is no correlation between students’ language learning strategies and their English achievement in reading skill .
