Abstract

ENGLISH:
This study aims to find out the students’ behavior in learning discipline towards English achievement, to determine students’ vocabulary achievement, and correlation between students’ behavior and vocabulary achievement in eleventh grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Kelapa. Furthermore, the limitations of the research were 1) this research focused on students’ behavior in discipline in English learning as a supporter in field of act behavior, attitude, and personality. 2) respondents focused on eleventh grade students in the first semester of the school year 2023/2024 at SMA Negeri 1 Kelapa and teachers. The research method used is quantitative with correlational design. The population of this way 8 classes consisting of 251 eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kelapa. The samples of this study were 38 students from class XI.1, XI,2, XI.3, XI.4, XI.5, XI.6, XI.7 and XI.8. The data were collected from questionnaire on students’ behavior in discipline learning, and test from vocabulary Test students’ at SMA Negeri 1 Kelapa.

The data collection technique was carried out using questionnaire on students’ behavior towards learning which was already validity at school. A total of 20 statement items were declared valid and declared reliable, because the results of rcount > rtable were 0,749 > 0,361. The test using vocabulary test of eleventh grade in students in Vocabulary achievement. The total of 24 questions of vocabulary test items were declared valid and reliable the result was 0,805 > 0,361.

The data were analyzed using Pearson’s Product-Moment Correlation. The results showed that rxy (0.477) was higher that table at 5% significant level (0.320). it is considered that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. The conclusion was that there was a medium or significant correlation between students’ behavior and students’vocabulary achievement. The students’ behavior on discipline in learning dan vocabulary achievement showed positive results and each class had a positive correlation and the majority of level grade have a very strong correlation category.
