Abstract

INDONESIA
Penerapan hukuman (ta’zir) di Pondok Pesantren Al-Muhajirin Koba berperan penting dalam membentuk karakter, kedisiplinan, dan tanggung jawab santri. Ta’zir diterapkan secara bertahap melalui hukuman ringan, sedang, dan berat, mulai dari teguran hingga skorsing atau pembinaan intensif, yang diberikan apabila santri melakukan pelanggaran seperti tidak mengikuti kegiatan atau datang terlambat. Penerapan ta’zir bertujuan menumbuhkan kesadaran disiplin dan mencegah pengulangan pelanggaran. Persepsi orang tua terhadap pelaksanaan ta’zir bervariasi; sebagian menilai hukuman sebagai langkah pendidikan yang wajar dan mendidik, sementara sebagian lainnya merasa kecewa, sedih, atau cemas. Variasi tersebut menunjukkan adanya perbedaan pemahaman orang tua terhadap makna dan tujuan disiplin dalam lingkungan pesantren.

Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini meliputi data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan datayang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diantaranya, obsevasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan ada beberapa tahap yaitu, reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua, ustaz/ustazah, dan santri umumnya memandang hukuman (ta’zir) sebagai sarana pembinaan yang humanis dan edukatif. Hukuman dinilai efektif menumbuhkan kepatuhan, meningkatkan kedisiplinan, dan membentuk akhlak santri. Persepsi orang tua cenderung positif karena ta’zir diterapkan tanpa kekerasan, melainkan menekankan efek jera, motivasi, dan perbaikan perilaku. Penerapan hukuman dilakukan secara bertahap sesuai tingkat pelanggaran dan melibatkan peran orang tua serta pengurus pesantren, sehingga disiplin tidak hanya bertujuan menegakkan aturan, tetapi juga membentuk santri yang berilmu, berakhlak, dan bertanggung jawab.

ENGLISH:
The implementation of punishment (ta'zir) at the Al-Muhajirin Koba Islamic Boarding School plays a crucial role in shaping the character, discipline, and responsibility of students. Ta'zir is implemented in stages through mild, moderate, and severe punishments, ranging from warnings to suspension or intensive coaching, which are given if students commit violations such as not participating in activities or arriving late. The implementation of ta'zir aims to foster awareness of discipline and prevent recurrence of violations. Parents' perceptions of the implementation of ta'zir vary; some view punishment as a reasonable and educational step, while others feel disappointed, sad, or anxious. This variation indicates differences in parents' understanding of the meaning and purpose of discipline within the Islamic boarding school environment.
This research employed descriptive qualitative methods. Data sources included primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis involved several stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions.
The research results show that parents, religious teachers (ustaz/ustazah), and students generally view punishment (ta'zir) as a humanistic and educational means of development. Punishment is considered effective in fostering obedience, improving discipline, and shaping students' morals. Parents' perceptions tend to be positive because ta'zir is implemented without violence, but rather emphasizes deterrence, motivation, and behavioral improvement. The implementation of punishment is carried out in stages according to the level of violation and involves the role of parents and Islamic boarding school administrators, so that discipline is not only aimed at enforcing rules, but also forming students who are knowledgeable, moral, and responsible.
