Kawasan Industri Tanjung Ular di Bangka Barat memliki potensi untuk menjadi motor penggerak pertumbuhan ekonomi Bangka Belitung bahkan nasional apabila mampu dipotimalkan. Memiliki keunggulan lokasi yang terletak di jalur pelayaran selat Bangka, ideal jadi pusat logistik, ekspor-impor dan perdagangan internasional. Selain itu, potensi sumber daya alam yang melimpah, sektor industri yang beragam dan ketersedian lahan untuk pengembangan Industri Kecil dan Menengah (IKM) dengan luas lahan 20,5 hektare, berpotensi menjadi pusat industri logistik regional dan nasional.

Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi lapangan (field research). Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan deskriptis analitis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pada upaya pemerintah daerah dalam mengoptimalkan potensi Kawasan Industri Ular guna meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi umat di Kabupaten Bangka Barat.

Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa upaya daerah dalam mengoptimalkan potensi Kawasan Industri Tanjung Ular untuk meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Ekonomi Umat di Kabupaten Bagka Barat belum optimal dilakukan. Pembuatan regulasi dan kebijakan, meningkatkan insfrastruktur kawasan industri Tanjung Ular, kemudahan investasi, peningkatan kemampuan sumber daya manusia, hingga saat ini belum mampu menjadi solusi alternatif dalam mengatasi kemiskinan, pengangguran, memperpendek jarak kesenjangan ekonomi dan pemerataan pembangunan di Bangka Barat. Disamping itu, promosi investasi belum mampu menarik investror karena masih kurangnya infratruktur penunjang. Sehingga, keberadaan Kawasan Industri Tanjung Ular hingga saat ini belum memberikan dapak ekonomi langsung kepada masyarakat lokal termasuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan ekonomi umat.
