Abstract

ENGLISH:
Students need clear direction for their future — not only to excel in technical skills, but also to be firmly grounded in Islamic values, so that the careers they choose are lawful, blessed, and count as acts of worship. In practice, however, career guidance services tend to focus mainly on the technical aspects of employment. As a result, students’ understanding of the true essence of a career integrated with religious values has not yet reached its full potential. This study aims to describe the implementation of career guidance, the integration of Islamic values, the level of students’ understanding of career planning, as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors at State Vocational High School 1 Simpang Katis. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources included the school principal, guidance and counseling teachers, and 22 Grade XII Multimedia students. Data were collected through participant observation, in‑depth interviews, and document review. Data validity was verified using source and method triangulation. The research findings show that: (1) Career guidance services have been carried out according to a regular schedule; (2) Islamic values have been incorporated on an ad‑hoc basis, yet not systematically, and no standard teaching modules are yet available; (3) As many as 81.81 % of students have a moderate to very good level of understanding regarding lawful and blessed career planning; and (4) Supporting factors include the school’s vision rooted in religious values and support from all school members, while inhibiting factors are limited time and facilities, as well as the absence of dedicated structured guidance materials.
